Insearch - A series of workshops with academic staff to develop the spatial design brief, technology scenarios and testing possible prototype solutions for a large technology enabled collaborative learning space for 120 students.

Kaospilot - The Art and Craft of Designing and Facilitating Learning Spaces Masterclass facilitated by Simon Kavangh. A three day masterclass for educators and trainers to explore experiential ways of learning in order to inspire, facilitate and design for creativity, innovation& risk in learning spaces and  education.

26th Eden Annual Conference Jonkoping Sweden presentation - A Matter of Distance – Stepping into the ‘Dance’ of Practice and exploration of the role of virtual spaces in the development and transitioning of students to new ways of learning and the development of digital literacies and citizenship.

2014 - 2015

Macquarie University - A series of workshops to facilitate the transition management of the temporary relocation of academic staff to an activity based working environment, alongside design facilitation for the design of new academic spaces for these staff to return to.  This work was completed in partnership with Socio Design and Lend Lease.

At the 3rd Annual Learning Space Summit from Informa, Susan Sherringham presented a case study

 

Protocols for developing next generation learning

environments.

 

The case study presented innovative design, facilitated through participatory processes that evaluate and develop learning spaces by putting people and learning at the centre. The case study highlighted the importance of the feedback loop in agile development.

At the Design for New Generation Learning Spaces Susan Sherringham presentrd a series of strategies for engaging diverse stakeholder groups and a panel discussion that illustrated student involvement in the process of designing learning spaces.

 

Guiding Multidisciplinary Teams on Educational Projects

 

This presentations considered  the at the many challenges associated with committee structures and project teams and suggested strategies for engaging stakeholders in meaningful ways to promote working together functionally and creatively.
